Traditional Cross Country Skiing

Cross country skiing, or Nordic skiing, is increasingly becoming a popular activity in many places around the world. It's a wonderful way to explore winter landscapes, as well as a pleasant full body work-out. Skiing on prepped slopes, Nordic skiing gives you more or less the same flexibility to travel as hiking ( more fun in downhills!), and the very nature of the activity allows you to move at your own pace. Norwegians have used traditional skiis as a mode of transportation and for recreational purposes during winter for centuries. There is even an old saying, "Norwegians are born with skis on the their feet", which essentially means that cross country skiing is second nature to most Norwegians, and comes as easy to us as walking.

Snowshoeing

With this interesting footwear you can walk on snow ( instead of falling straight through it as one normally would), and allows you to discover the area by foot.
