Snow adventure (4-days)

Lets combine snow, dogsledding, snowshoe hikes, great food and accommodation. Head up into the Norwegian mountains with us and lets create an adventure of a life time!

Join us for an unforgettable adventure and unique encounter with the Norwegian winter and our four-legged champions! Let the Alaskan Huskies guide you along snowy and scenic paths, and through white mountains landscapes, and get a taste of how polar adventurers explored undiscovered area.

 

The tour runs from Bygdin just at the edge of the white winter landscape of Jotunheimen. Travel info Jotunheimen National Park with a dog sledding crew. Our experienced mushers will adapt the speed and pace according to your level of comfort, and if you are up for the challenge, you will become a part of the crew and not "just another guest"! And yes, this means that YOU will get to be the one leading your own group of Huskies!

 

You will travel past snow-covered peaks and along the frozen Bygdin Lake. The mushers will guide you, take care of the dogs and get you safely back to Bygdin. This journey is out of the ordinary, and it will get your adrenaline pumping and your heart racing! Especially for animal lovers, it’s an amazing way to experience this area with these sturdy and loyal dogs by your side.

    Enjoy the scenic journey from Oslo to the Valdres Region. After leaving the bustle of the capital you will soon find yourself on countryside roads passing through small towns and surrounded by lakes and fields. As you get further into the country, you will see the mountains in the distance and before you know you’ll find yourself climbing the steep roads that take you straight into the national park. The coach has adjustable seats, free WiFi, outlets with USB charging ports and toilet facilities on board.

    Bygdin Fjellhotel is situated south of Jotunheimen, near the lake "Bygdin" in an altitude of 3910 ft. It is 12km north of Beitostølen and 22 km from Besseggen. The main road 51 over Valdresflya passes the hotel. The Hotel was built in 1912, and in 1955 and 1965 extensions were added on. The hotel has an old-fashioned warm style,which has been maintained throughout the entire building. Bygdin Fjellhotel is situated at the boarder of Jotunheimen National Park, with a view to fantastic scenery over the mountains with peaks up to 6900ft.

    Ascent height: 250 meters

    3-hour dog-sledding tours around Bygdin Hotel. Great tour both for beginners and experienced enthusiasts. The tour runs around the south border of Jotunheimen and delivers a superb view of the mountains and surroundings.

    Get ready to sweat, you will have to manage your own sledge and steer the team of dogs yourself. Of course with the help and support of our guides!

    Right outside the doorstep of Bygdin mountain hotel, the wild nature awaits to be explored and experienced. Jotunheimen is an enormous national park, with numerous options for exciting nature exploration,and we will seek out some hidden gems in this beautiful landscape. Your lunch is enjoyed outside by the bonfire, and you will have a traditional bonfire-coffee. In the evening, you will get the chance to experience an interesting lecture about the history of the area.
