Located in the municipality of Vågå, with a long history at his back, Bessheim Fjellestue og hytter is an original sætre (mountain pasture) which has been welcoming guests since 1890, thanks to Henrik Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt”, which gave visibility to the area. Bessheim started its mission as a mountain pasture, both in summer and winter, until the family Lund decided to enter the world of tourism in 1960 and leave behind the farm life. As per today, the business - located along the provincial road 51 - has multiple accommodations to satisfy any luxury or wallet necessity! Given its prime location along the National Scenic Route, and next to the Besseggen ridge, the lodgings are perfect for those seeking outdoorsy activities or simply a quiet and temporary retreat from the modern world.
