Besseggen is a breathtaking hiking ridge, a mountain top and also also one of the Norway's most famous and scenic hiking trails, located in Jotunheimen National Park between the lakes Gjende and Bessvatnet.
Stretching 14 kilometers (8.7 miles), it offers a thrilling adventure along steep paths, with unparalleled views of the emerald-green Gjende Lake on one side and the deep blue Bessvatnet Lake on the other. The trail connects Memurubu Lodge and Gjendesheim Lodge, with an elevation gain of 1,200 meters (3,937 feet). Known for its rugged terrain, it is one of Norway's most famous hikes, drawing over 50,000 hikers annually.
