Storbrean is a stunning glacier located in Leirdalen, near Leirvassbu Lodge, in the heart of Jotunheimen National Park. Surrounded by towering peaks, it offers breathtaking views and access to several hiking and skiing routes.

How to get here

  • From Leirvassbu:

    • Storbrean is most easily accessed from Leirvassbu, which serves as a central hub for hikes in Jotunheimen. From the lodge, hike down the Leirdalen about 6 km and then cross the Leira river on a hangin bridge and then follow the path towards the glacier.

  • By Car and Public Transport:

    • Drive along the Sognefjell Road (Route 55) and turn onto the gravel road to Leirvassbu. Park by the hanging bridge - see the map.
