Visdalen: A Majestic Valley in the heart of the Jotunheimen National Park

Visdalen is a stunning 27 km long valley in Jotunheimen National Park, Norway, known for its dramatic landscapes, rich history, and accessibility to some of the park’s most iconic peaks, including Galdhøpiggen, the highest mountain in Northern Europe. Its combination of natural beauty and well-marked trails makes Visdalen a favorite destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Visdalen stretches between the mountain lodge Spiterstulen in the lower part of the valley and the surrounding peaks of central Jotunheimen. The valley’s lush greenery contrasts beautifully with the rugged, snow-capped mountains that rise dramatically on either side. The Visa River flows through the valley, fed by glacial streams from nearby peaks.
