The hotel is a traditional mountain lodge hotel with a history that goes back to 1868 when the poet and mountain hiker Aasmund Olavsson Vinje built the first cabin at Eidsbugarden. Eidsbugarden hotel is beautifully situated 1065 meters above sea level, at the west end of lake Bygdin.
The food served is "Rustic Traditional Norwegian Gourmet". The menu holds a high quality and is based on local ingredients like trout and game. From Eidsbugarden there are several different hiking routes in the area. And a great entrance to the rest of Jotunheimen National Park.
