Gjendesheim DNT

Gjendesheim has a long history all the way back to 1878. The cabin is run by DNT and located in the heart of the Norwegian mountains, with Besseggen as its neighbour.

Gjendesheim has a total of 180 beds. Both rooms for 2 persons and 4-persons are available, in addition to single and dormitory rooms. The cabin has been staffed by DNT since 1878, and is located next to Gjendebåten and is the starting point for the famous Besseggen hike.

Dinner is served every day at 18.00 and 20.00 during the winter, and 19.00 and 21.00 during the summer. Gjendesheim offers a great food experience based on local traditions and locally produced food.
