Hike & Dine: Utsikten (The View)

Sail across Bygdin sea, enjoy your lunch at Fondsbu and hike to Utsikten (The view) before returning once again across Bygdin back to the start.

Sail across Bygdin sea with the motor boat Bitihorn to Eidsbugarden. The tour between Bygdin and Eidsbugarden is a 1 hour and 45 minutes superb boat tour in itself. Once you arrive at Eidsbugarden you will have time to enjoy a 1 or 2-course lunch at Fondsbu DNT. Of course we would recommend upgrading to the 2-course for the full dining experience! The tour also leaves plenty of time for a round-trip tour to “utsikten”, and several other smaller easier peaks. Pass by Fondsbu as soon as the boat arrives and they will be able to give you some good suggestions on other peaks as well. The peaks, nature and location around Eidsbugarden is a good excuse to try this tour several times, and just replace what peaks you want to visit!

    Enjoy the scenic journey from Oslo to the Valdres Region. After leaving the bustle of the capital you will soon find yourself on countryside roads passing through small towns and surrounded by lakes and fields. As you get further into the country, you will see the mountains in the distance and before you know you’ll find yourself climbing the steep roads that take you straight into the national park.     Utsikten is a short, easy tour with spectacular view over the great nature landscape of Jotunheimen. Its about 410m height meters to ascend, but short and fits beginners well.
